UMR Statement on NIH Funding in FY23 Omnibus Appropriations Bill

December 23, 2022

United for Medical Research applauds the bipartisan and bicameral passage of $2.5 billion increase for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), as well as $1.5 billion for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), in the year-end spending package.

Under the leadership of Reps. Rosa DeLauro and Tom Cole, and Sens. Patty Murray and Roy Blunt, Congress has again declared that biomedical research is a national priority and NIH-driven research will continue saving and improving lives across the country and around the world.

UMR is grateful for the support and passion of so many members of Congress who voted to advance NIH’s mission of understanding, treating and curing our most deadly diseases.
